Suzzanne,
Odds are that you would not recognize me if we had a chance encounter. Truth be told I don't think I would recognize you. (especially now) However, your story is not about odds or chance but it is about faith and grace. I was one of the many residents who took care of your during your "stay" at The Med. The descriptions here and your pictures after admission cannot really describe the magnitude of your injuries, especially your head injury. They cannot relate how every minute of everyday was a fight - a fight to wake up, breathe on your own, overcome infection and, in the end, to simply be able to care for yourself again. On the other hand, what is boldly displayed is the power of prayer and you and your family's faith in God. What your life is now is a testimony of His faithfullness to us. It is infrequent that we, as residents, have the opportunity to see longterm outcomes, especially with your results, and I thank you for that opportunity. I wish you all the best and that happiest of holiday seasons. Ephesians 2:8

SUZ AND JEFF, YOU CAME TO TICU TODAY TO DELIVER YOUR THANKSGIVING LETTER AND THE BEAUTIFUL PLACQUE. I AM LEAVING THIS MESSAGE ON THIS BOARD FOR THOSE WHO READ THIS SITE MORE SO THAN FOR THE TWO OF YOU. WHILE YOU WERE HERE IN THE TICU UNIT THE LORD STARTED BLESSING EVERYONE WHO CAME IN CONTACT WITH YOU (EVEN WHEN YOU WERE UNABLE TO TALK TO US)THROUGH YOU AND JEFF. HERE YOU ARE A YEAR LATER AND HE IS CONTINUING TO BLESS US THROUGH YOU. WE KNOW THAT THE LORD SAID HE WILL NEVER GIVE ANYONE MORE THAN THEY CAN BEAR UNDER, BUT SOMETIMES IN THE PROFESSION WE WORK IN THAT IS EASILY FORGOTTEN. NOT EVERYONE THAT COMES IN HAS SOMEONE (JEFF) THAT HAS AN INNER PEACE THAT COMES ONLY FROM THE LORD, AND IT IS DIFFICULT SOMETIMES AS NURSES AND PHYSICIANS TO ALWAYS SEEM AS THE BEARERS OF BAD NEWS. WHEN YOU CAME IN TODAY UNKNOWINGLY YOU MADE EVERYTHING WE DO (GOOD AND BAD) WORTH IT. THANK YOU BOTH FOR YOU CONSTANT SUPPORT, AND OUR PRAYERS ARE ALWAYS WITH YOU. MERRY CHRISTMAS.

Suzanne, You are so amazing! I was cleaning out some letters and papers tonight and ran across your most recent letter. I had intended to write to you right after I got it, but kind of forgot. Sorry. I just finished reading your one year update, and I am so impressed with your outlook and your attitude and your faith and just you as a person. I am grateful that I can consider you a friend! Please write when you get a chance and we will try to catch up. It seems like it wasn't so very long ago that we were writing somewhat regularly and discussing all sorts of things. I'd like that again, if you're up to it. You can email me or snail mail, although I might faint if I were to receive a letter of a personal nature in the mail--it's been so long! Love and friendship always, Beth

What an answer to prayer you are! Thank you so much for coming to my bridal shower up in Alaska this summer, Suzanne. You are a walking testimony to the miraculous hand of God.
I just browsed through the more recent photos of you with the team of good people who helped save your life and I just got goosebumps. Our Father provides ALL of our needs~! Patrick and I send our love to both of you.

How precious is His grace and His reflection in your life. The miracle of your recovery and the light and salt you and Jeff continue to be to others is certainly indicative of this season and the joy we share as brothers and sisters in Christ. May the Christmas season continue to bless you all. (The new website is awesome!)

My dearest Suzanne,
With our only correspondence being at the holidays, I had no idea you had been injured. I am in tears right now thinking of all you have been through. As you may recall, I'm a trauma ICU nurse. I care for people all the time with your injuries. Rarely do I see them recover as well or as quickly as you have. You truly have much to be thankful for this Thanksgiving. I'm so glad you are doing well. You look absoultely beautiful and vibrant in the pictures on your website. It really puts my own trials and tribulations into perspective when I hear about something like this happening to someone I have known for so long. I will bookmark this website on my computer. Fritz and I are in transition right now. We will have a new address/e-mail soon. We will be moving from Bend at the end of December. We're moving to Milwaukee, WI (closer to you!) for him to join a new practice. On a happy note, I am 7 months pregnant, due Feb 14! :>) Things are going well, no major problems so far. Stay well. You are in my prayers. Love, Kristen

Jeff and Suzanne,
I am so glad you updated your site. I haven't checked in in awhile so it's great to hear how well you are doing. :) Congratulations Jeff on getting your masters! That is a huge accomplishment. What will you do with it? We are doing good here. Just went to Switzerland on a retreat. So georgous! Kai is 2 1/2 now and not interested at all in potty training. What fun that you got to go on a cruise. Happy late Anniversary! Someday Dan and I would love to do that too. Do you think that you will try to come to Europe any time soon? You always have a place to stay here. Blessings on you both. Love, Laura and family

Dear Suzie Q,
I got your awesome, wonderful update letter and thank you in the mail by way of Galena yesterday. I thought I would try and see if I was still able to write you through the cds web site. I have not done this in 6 months and was not sure Jeff had it in operation. I was totally blown away and found myself crying through the last months of entries. I had been thinking about a book, bound entries of all God has done in you and Jeff since the accident. And here I was able to read and see all the entries myself. What and encouragement and constant blessing it is to know you and Jeff. Through out the summer I had some great things happen and I enjoyed Alaska by many avenues. But I have to tell you taht the ultimate summer high for me was seeing you WALK, ALL by YOURSELF into the small reception area at Chaple By the Sea. What an awesome sight for me. I was so shocked to see you there and know how God had cared for you and kept you all this time for His purposes it was just great. Great to know My Dear and Special Friend is a living walking example of Grace and the goodness of God! Your life is such a blessing to me. I keep the family picture of you and JEff in my bible and have since the accident. I can not look at the two of you with out thanking God with tears welled up in tears. How amazing it is to have watched Jeff through all of this and now see your huge smile with all of the people that assisted you through the accident. What Joy fills my heart because of the Presleys I am so blessed to know. I love you!!! Jill Kaniut
